MAY 9, 1998-----Today, we had a picnic at Lansford Canal State Park and hiked both the Canal Trail and the Nature Trail. Ridgerunner was worn out by the time we finished the first half of the hike. My dad and I did a "fast hike" back to the car and drove around to pick up Mom, Ridgerunner, and Trailcrawler. Trailcrawler had it easy; just sit back and let Dad and Mom push and carry the stroller. We saw two snakes and lots of butterflies. Our next expedition will be to visit waterfalls in eastern S.C. See you soon!!!!!

MAY 24, 1998-----The family visited 2 waterfalls. The first one was King Creek Waterfall at Burell's Ford, near Oconee State Park. We hiked in a mile to reach the falls. It is about a 120 foot drop. My dad fell in the creek trying to cross over to a sand bar to get a better view. The rest of us laughed. Then I waded over and Dad carried Ridgerunner across. Very nice place to stop for awhile. The second falls was Whitewater Falls, just over the state line in N.C. It is a 400 foot falls with upper and lower sections. The National Forest Service is doing some construction so be careful!!! Both of these falls are on the Foothills Hiking Trail. We had a great time!!!!! If my dad would quit playing with the html code, he will have directions and infomation on the other pages. HURRY UP, DAD!!! See ya!
